About Our Practice

Dr. Lindsay Dowis is a North Carolina native, but has lived nearly half her life in Georgia. She completed her schooling at Chapel Hill, her medical training at PCOM-GA, and her residency in Family Medicine at the Medical College of GA in Augusta. She has worked in a variety of healthcare settings since 2005, gaining nearly two decades of experience. In the first part of her career, she practiced rural medicine in Old Fort, NC outside of Asheville, and was a regional medical director for Mission Health System. Since moving to GA, she has worked in an inpatient hospital setting, outpatient urgent primary care, and is medical director of Unify Aesthetics in Cumming. Dr. Dowis also enjoys teaching students and supervising midlevel medical providers, and is thankful to be able to do this regularly. She and her husband, Dr. Jeff Dowis, started Family Care Dahlonega in 2018 and very much enjoy providing medical care to their local community. Her favorite thing about medicine will always be building relationships with patients and sharing in their health success. Within primary care, she concentrates on ADHD and pain management.

When she’s not seeing patients or running the office, she enjoys all things vintage, golfing, exercise, and most of all spending time with her 2 kids, husband, and other family.

Karen brings over 20 years of medical experience to Family Care Dahlonega. She is a north Georgia native and loves living in and serving our community. Karen enjoys spending time with her family and her dog. Her career has shown steady dedication to primary and urgent care as her passion. She has been the recipient of multiple awards including awards for her clinical work, public service, management and supervision. Her career started as a passion for laboratory work and management, which led her to pursue her Physician Assistant degree.

Victoria is a Family Nurse Practitioner, originally from Asheville, North Carolina. She is now a Georgia local. She completed her Masters in Nursing at Carson-Newman University. With a strong passion for health and wellness, Victoria transitioned from a rewarding 4-year career as a labor and delivery nurse to pursue her current role as an F-NP, where she continues to dedicate herself to improving the well-being of her patients. Outside of her professional life, Victoria enjoys reading, exercise, and playing the piano. She also values quality time spent with her family and friends, who are an integral part of her life. Her background in nursing, combined with her holistic approach to health, reflects her commitment to fostering wellness in all aspects of life.
